Currently, I’m working on a new baby blanket design which uses a provisional crochet cast on. I used a provisional crochet chain cast on for my design Naptown Naptime, where you create a crochet chain a few chains longer than your cast on stitch count and pick up your stitches by knitting into the back of each chain. However, this blanket is being knit in panels, so I’m using a provisional cast on that puts the crochet loops directly onto the knitting needle. This will allow me to have live stitches across the bottom of each panel from which to knit the edge. Below is a video of this technique.
